 OUR DRIVERS |

Our drivers are carefully selected for this vitally important role. Not only are they screened for their driving ability, but they are also heavily screened for suitability for work with children. Essentially, our drivers are mature au pairs who have been trained to drive.
The first element of our driver selection is very similar to the screening process which we put our au pairs through. The one difference between the au pair application and the driver application is that in order to be considered as a driver, applicants must have a minimum of five years accident free driving experience as well as recent police clearance. Should a candidate meet this requirement, an interview is conducted, references are scrutinized and the potential driver undergoes a child-related practical evaluation.
Thereafter, provided the potential driver has ‘passed’ this initial application stage, they are sent on a driving assessment with an accredited driving academy. ONLY drivers who emerge as low risk candidates are considered thereafter. In the instance that a driver has been categorized as a low risk driver, they are then sent on an advanced driving course in the vehicle they will potentially drive. During this specialized, individual training course, drivers are given both theoretical and practical training. All aspects of driver awareness are dealt with, including traffic management, dealing with distractions, hi-jack prevention techniques, proactive skills, concentration, minimizing risks amongst many other things. Upon completion of this training, a driving evaluation takes place which demonstrates and highlights the standard attained by the driver. These certificates are available for our clients to view should they wish to!
Drivers also hold valid PDPs as well as up to date first aid qualifications.
